We carry out both Private and NHS Sight Tests. All our sight tests are carried out by a qualified Optometrist.

Regular Eye tests are important for many reasons. You may have a specific problem with your eyes and vision that may need monitoring. You may have stress on your eyes created through your work or hobbies. You could have general health problems like diabetes or high blood pressure, which can be detected through an eye test.

During your eye examination, our qualified Optician will examine your vision and carry out the appropriate tests to see if you require vision correction. There will be an in depth discussion with the Optometrist about your current eyesight requirements, an assessment of any current glasses that you maybe using and discuss any other health and lifestyle issues that maybe relevant.

We will ensure you can see clearly at all distances, far , intermediate (VDU) and reading. Including any specific occupational or leisure requirements.

Your ocular health will also be examined. We will check the internal and external parts of your eyes with a bright light to make sure they are healthy and operating normally. Many health issues such as Cataracts, Diabetes, or Hypertension can affect the eyes without you realising. The Optometrist will be able to recognise any changes occurring.

Dry Eye Assessments

You can also book in alongside your routine eye examination a dry eye assessment.

Do your eyes often feel dry or irritated? Do certain activities, like reading or working on the computer, make your eyes feel scratchy? or do you wear your contact lenses less as they have become uncomfortable?

If you answer 'yes' to any of these questions, you may have have what eyecare professionals call 'dry eye syndrome'.

The care of the dry eye is directly associated with the cause of the problem. Our Optometrist will investigate the problem using various techniques to arrive at a solution to combat the symptoms. Symptoms maybe due to poor hygiene, which may require lid scrubs. The most popular eye treatments are dye therapy, which your Optometrist can recommend. Treatments include artificial tears.

If you think you suffer from dry eyes, please call and book in appointment for a dry eye assessment with highly trained Optometrists. Our Optometrists have been trained with the pharmaceutical company SpectrumThea and are are fully informed of their Dry eye care products.
